ROCKFORD (WIFR)--- As February comes to and end, so does Black History Month. That didn't stop many across the Stateline from having one last celebration.
Nearly 100 people turned out tonight for the Washington Park Community Center's family event. There was lots of music and dancing plus a special tribute to those who've worked for equality.
In Downtown Rockford the celebration continued at City Hall. The Rockford area chapter of the NAACP hosted its third annual "Black History Month Celebration." The event included several public speakers and musical preformances. There was also a theatrical tribute to freedom.
