ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It appears concerns over rising food prices have caught the ears of U.S. farmers because they planted more ears of corn than just about any year in the past seven decades.
The U.S. Agriculture Department says the size of this year's corn crop will be 92.3 Million acres. Since 1944 only the 2007 crop was larger. Corn is used in hundreds of food and beverages and the large supply is expected to push down prices.
