UPDATE: Vice President Biden Lands at RFD for Friday Campaign Stop in Beloit

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- With just five days to go before the Presidential Election... The winner is still in doubt. But there is one certainty our next Vice President used the Greater Rockford Airport Today.

Thursday Morning Republican VP candidate Congressman Paul Ryan flew out of Rockford after going trick-or-treating with his kids in Janesville Wednesday night. We also found out that Ryan and his family have used RFD several times in the past for family vacations to Denver. And Thursday night Vice President Joe Biden flew into Rockford. The VP then drove off in a motorcade headed towards Beloit for an event Friday morning at Aldrich Middle School.

BELOIT (WIFR) -- Just days before the November election, the Vice President of the United States gets ready to make a stop in the Stateline.

Vice President Joe Biden will be speaking in front of students and community members at Aldrich Middle School in Beloit tomorrow morning.

Today, the school is getting ready. The welcome sign is already up and crews are setting up the staging area in the schools' gym.

Cable and lighting equipment cover the gym floor, but it will all be ready in time for Biden's visit. Beloit police officers are also helping out. They'll help patrol traffic as the motorcade moves throughout the city. One Beloit man who has a ticket to the event, says he can't wait.

"I just think it's really exciting for Beloit when political candidates come to town and i think no matter what people's opinions are they should go check it out," said Alexander Catalan.

Biden is also expected to make another stop somewhere in the city, however police tell me they don't know where yet, so that will make security a little more difficult.

23 News will be in Beloit covering Biden’s visit and we'll have the full story tomorrow. Meantime you may recall, Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney also made a stop in Rock County a few months ago. He spoke at the Monterey Mills plant in Janesville back in June.
