ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- After hearing from hundreds of people about ways to better Rockford, Mayor Larry Morrissey is getting ready to take all that information and incorporate it into his state of the city address.
Saturday was the final Better Rockford Today forum meeting before his state of the city address.
Morrissey says he's heard a lot of good feedback from the meetings.
He says he'll address those problems during his speech on Wednesday, but he's not stopping there.
"My hope would be that every year, we have a state of the city speech, we have this kind of outreach and engagement around the themes that we're doing within the speech," Morrissey said. "And then for the rest of the year, we'll be working our plan. We have a plan for this year, we're going to work the plan so we'll still be engaging either by ward basis or it could be other community meetings on at least a monthly basis and throughout the course of the rest of the year, we want to be having engagement opportunities."
The Better Rockford Today group is planning more forums later in the month for the second and 10th wards.
