LOVES PARK (WIFR) – The family of another alleged drunk driving victim is also remembered this weekend as those who knew the victim work together to help ease the financial burden of a sudden funeral.
You may remember 25 year old Jason Foster was killed in June when police say he was struck by a minivan trying to make a left turn on Weaver Road off of Perryville Road. The driver of the van Brad Carlson was charged with a DUI. Today those who knew Jason “Sloth” Foster celebrated his life during a benefit at Casey’s Pub.
“He always said ‘if I die you better celebrate’. He was like ‘don’t be sad, be happy’,” said Foster’s longtime friend Adria Alley.
“He had so many friends,” said another longtime friend Jeremy Ball. “He taught so many people it was ridiculous. He was one of the best people I’ve ever known.”
Family members say they’re trying to raise 11-thousand dollars for Foster’s funeral costs and other personal expenses.
