Belvidere Police Seek Information Regarding Shooting

BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- On Saturday, January 5, 2013, just before 5:00 p.m., Belvidere Patrol Officers responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Tobyne Drive, Belvidere in reference to a subject being shot. Officers arrived and found a 16-year-old male, who had been shot multiple times in the legs.

Lifeline Ambulance transported the 16-year-old known gang member of Belvidere, Illinois to Saint Anthony Medical Center where he remains in stable condition.

The shooting is believed to have occurred in the area of Strawberry Lane and West Harrison Avenue, Belvidere. The victim was in the area, when he was approached by a man dressed in black wearing a mask. After the shooting, the offender fled the scene on foot.
