Belvidere Police Department Announce St. Patrick's Day Traffic Enforcement Results

BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- Belvidere Police Chief Jan Noble has announced enforcement results for the Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program St. Patrick’s Day campaign.

The Belvidere Police department received funding from the Illinois Department of Transportation to hire off-duty officers from March 14- March 17, 2013. Officers conducted 43 traffic stops that resulted in 57 tickets or arrests:

12- Seat Belt
9- Uninsured
3- Equipment
4- Child Seat
9- Suspended/Revoked/Unlicensed
1- Other D.L.
5- Drugs
3- Moving
3- DUI
5- Registration
2- BAC Over .08
1- Minor Consumption of Alcohol

Belvidere officers will continue with targeted traffic enforcement in the coming months. Please buckle up and drive carefully.
