Belvidere Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- On Tuesday, April 3, 2013 the Belvidere Police Department arrested a man on multiple drug charges.

Pablo Mora Jr., 19 years old and known gang member of Belvidere, Illinois, was charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine – Class 4 Felony), one count of Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (Class A Misdemeanor), one count of Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver 30-500 grams of cannabis (Class 3 Felony), one count of Unlawful Possession 30-500 grams of cannabis (Class 4 Felony) and one count of Unlawful Use of Weapons. Mora is currently being held in the Boone County Jail on a $250,000.00 (10%) bond.

On Tuesday, April 2, 2013, Belvidere Patrol officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of south main street, Belvidere. Mora, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be in possession of cocaine and cannabis.

On Tuesday, April 2, 2012, Belvidere Police Narcotic Detectives and Belvidere Patrol Officers searched a residence located in the 500 block of Buchanan Street, Belvidere. Belvidere police seized cannabis, scales, drug packaging material, drug paraphernalia, scales, ammunition and United States currency.

A class 3 felony is punishable by two (2) to five (5) years in the department of corrections. A class 4 felony is punishable by one (1) to three (3) years in the department of corrections.
