BELVIDERE (WIFR) – A Belvidere couple is competing next week at the Westminster Dog Show.

Kent and Gwen Meyer of Meyer’s Tails Up Farm will be showing soft-coated Wheaten Terriers.

One of the dogs being shown, Doree, is traveling from Canada to compete in the show. The other, Bogie, is from Belvidere.

“We’ve been out there quite a few times, but it’s never routine to go to Westminster. It’s the longest running sporting event in the United States.”

Last year, Meyer was awarded top honors with Best of Breed. The show is Monday through Tuesday.
