BELOIT (WIFR) --On Tuesday, January 28, from 5:30 to 7 pm, BMHS will hold its annual official BMHS EXPO and AP Night.
The event is designed to help make each student’s transition to Beloit Memorial – whether new to the school or getting ready for a new grade with more rigorous courses - a success. The annual Expo gives the opportunity to see, first hand, what is offered at Beloit Memorial High School. Staff will present details about curriculum, scheduling, course and program offerings, including information on the many new courses that have been added to the course booklet over the last few years. Current students will also help provide more information as they give demonstrations of class lessons, and information on courses and clubs from their point of view.
Visitors will get to tour classrooms, the Knight Spot Student Lounge, recently renovated career and technical education areas, Cardio and Strength centers, and new natatorium.
Also during the evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria, families can attend an AP Informational Session, a chance for families to explore Advanced Placement possibilities. Administrators and AP teachers will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about the 26 different AP classes that are offered at BMHS (Studio Art 2-D and 3-D Design, Studio Art Drawing, Art History, Macro Economics (offered through Odyssey), Micro Economics (offered through Odyssey), Computer Science, Language and Literature, Literature and Composition, Statistics, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, European History, Human Geography, Psychology, US Government, US History, World History, Environmental Science, Physics I and Physics 2, Chemistry, Biology, French, Spanish and Music Theory.). Parents can learn how students not only have access to the post-secondary experience, but also are eligible to earn college credits while still in high school.
BMHS staff especially encourage incoming students and families to attend this important and informative event as they look forward to welcoming each student into the Purple Knight Family. BMHS is located at 1225 Fourth Street, Beloit.
