LOVES PARK (WIFR) -- It's a fairly common problem in the hospitality industry and sometimes in homes, now we have learned a Loves Park call center which is hosting a job fair tomorrow has found a few bed bugs in its facility.
23 News received some complaints from employees at The Connection, worrying about the insects. In a written statement the president of The Connection corporation confirms a few bed bugs have been found inside the call center.
The company says it brought in pest control to inspect, which found the situation to be isolated. The call center sprayed last week and they say it will do it again this week.
A letter went home with employees last week, asking workers to take home their personal belongings while they deep clean the center in light of the bed bug issue.
The company says it's met with one employee who has bed bugs in his/her home and that person is not currently working. The Connection is also offering free in-home inspections and information on how to identify and prevent bed bugs.
The company says it will still hold a job fair from 2-5 p.m. tomorrow at its Loves Park facility at 1975 Harlem Rd.
The Winnebago County Health Department tells 23 News that i received at least three complaints of the bed bugs, however the health department doesn't investigate bed bugs at businesses. These types of complaints are referred to OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, to investigate.
