CHERRY VALLEY (WIFR) -- While people at the home show may be thinking about expanding the size of their closets, an organization wants us to go through our closets to see if we can help high school girls get ready for one of the biggest nights of their lives.
Becca's Closet hosted it's annual runway show today at the Cherryvale Mall. The show kicks off the annual opening of Becca's Closet which is an organization that collects formal wear, then gives it to girls who can't afford to buy a brand new prom dress. Each year the group gives away more than 500 dresses to girls right here in the Stateline.
"The girls that come in, they are so excited to have this opportunity and you see them come in, many of them have never put on a formal dress and they and they leave walking a little taller and feeling pretty confident," says Amy Kohening of Becca's Closet.
Becca's Closet is in the basement of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard which is at 1829 North Rockton Avenue, right across from West Middle School. Doors open on Saturday, March 8th from 9am until Noon during prom season.
