ROCKFORD (WIFR) – In just a few hours, one of the biggest local concerts of the year will be taking place at Rockford’s BMO Harris Bank Center. Country superstar Brad Paisley is brining thousands of folks to our downtown for the sold-out show.

In downtown Rockford tonight, thousands of people are expected to pack our local restaurants thanks to the concert tonight. We caught up with a few bar owners earlier who say they’re preparing for a show of their own.

From extra seats to extra staff, bar owner in downtown Rockford are getting ready for a packed house tonight thanks to the Brad Paisley concert at the BMO center. It’ll be standing room only probably around 6.

Matt Idzikowski at Vintage 501 says he’s excited for the country start to come to the Stateline saying it’s a chance to attract new customers.

“It brings a lot of people who probably wouldn’t come downtown to see all the new stuff that’s going on down here. That’s the trick is to get new people to come downtown and check out Rockford. Here we added another 6 tables so that’s 24 seats over there,” Idzikowski said.

Thousand s of people are expected to enjoy food and drink specials along State Street. Andy Rio, owner of the District says he’s been turning down hundreds of reservations all week.

“Non-stop all day today, yesterday, we’ve been turning them away. We haven’t actually turned them away, we say you can come in we can’t promise you a reservation, but we can get you in,” Rio said.

Many owners say they’re expecting huge crowds even before the concert tonight, the owner at district tells me they’ll have a country band performing tonight, so Brad Paisley fans can enjoy even more country music after the concert.
