FREEPORT (WIFR) -- This is the last night Sensata workers and their supporters will sleep outside the Freeport plant. After about two months Bainport is shutting down.
Organizer Tom Gaulrapp tells 23 News Stephenson County leaders want to shut the fairgrounds down for the winter. About 20 people stayed there on average each night. Gaulrapp says they'll continue to protest outside the plant to receive a full year's severance. The 170 workers losing their jobs to China are getting half that. The plant is supposed to close next month. There's a chance that date will be pushed back to January.
