OGLE COUNTY(WIFR) -- The man wanted for threatening a homeowner with a metal bar during a burglary back on Christmas Eve in Ogle County is now in custody and will soon be on his way back to the Stateline.
According to the Ogle County Sheriff's Department Facebook page,Terry Maxwell,56, was arrested in Athens, Georgia.
Deputies say he led them on a high speed chase after they responded to a home invasion call on Route 72 in Rural Davis Junction back on December 24, 2013.
The sheriff's department says Maxwell was out on parole for residential burglary after being released from prison last September.
According to the Ogle County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to the 15000 block of E. IL Rte. 72 in Davis Junction for a reported home invasion on Dec. 24 just after 2 p.m.
56-year-old Terry D. Maxwell allegedly threatened the homeowner with a metal bar. He then fled the place and led sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended after Maxwell entered Winnebago County driving a maroon 1999 Dodge Concord. The vehicle was recovered several days later by Ogle County sheriff's deputies near East State and Madison streets.
A $500,000 warrant has been obtained for Maxwell. Maxwell was released from state prison in September. He is currently out on parole for residential burglary. He was last known to be driving a white 1997 Chevrolet Malibu four-door with the Illinois license plate R998548.
