ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Six area High Schools were able to put their arguing skills to the test, in the 7th annual Truth Talk Debates.The event allowed high school students to debate some of the most heated topics in the stateline.
The debate topics included:
A) Will conceal carry make Rockford safer?
B) Is tracking internet usage harmful to society?
C) Should the government legislate its' citizens diet?
"We chose to do this event to better highlight our students. To be able to make an argument, debate that argument, debate an issue, work on a team. They have proven us right every single year," says the Truth Talk Debate Founder, Dr. Patrick Hardy.
Students are given their topics several months prior to the debate.
