ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity (RAHFH) has been awarded a grant of $1,000.00 from Associated Bank. The grant will be used to assist with the landscaping of one new home next month. Earlier this summer, the bank also arranged a group of volunteers to spend a Saturday working on the new homes under construction.
With the addition of four new homes this summer, RAHFH will have completed 104 homes in Rockford since 1988. Eighty-five percent of those homes are occupied by the original homebuyers. Four families have paid off their mortgages while four more have sold their homes on the open market at a profit.
In 2009, RAHFH also partnered with Associated Bank to acquire two abandoned houses in Rockford. Those houses have since been demolished and replaced with new homes. RAHFH appreciates the support of Associated Bank in revitalizing our neighborhoods.
