ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Rockford Area Arts Council and its Board of Directors announced the recipients of its 2013 Community Arts Access Grants. The Rockford Area Arts Council will award nearly $20,000 in grants to artists, arts organizations and community groups. This year 21 organizations and individuals will receive a Community Arts Access Grant.

Community Arts Access Grants: Grants are awarded in amounts up to $2,500 to artists and community non-profit organizations for projects which increase access to the arts for underserved people and/or increase the visibility of the arts for people in Boone, DeKalb, Ogle, and Winnebago counties.

The grants are made possible in part by the Illinois Arts Council, City of Rockford and
generous members.
