MINNEAPOLIS (CBS NEWS) -- A pilot for American Eagle Airlines has been suspended after failing a blood-alcohol test as he prepared to fly from Minneapolis to New York on Friday.
Police and a Transportation Security Administration agent smelled alcohol on the pilot's breath before he boarded his aircraft. Police then boarded the plane as the pilot was conducting pre-flight checks before passengers boarded early Friday morning. The pilot was given a breath test and was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol. The flight and its 53 passengers were delayed for several hours awaiting a replacement pilot.
