ROCKFORD (WIFR) – We’re learning more about when the Stateline’s first zip-lining and year round adventure park will open in Rockford.

We’re told the park will look pretty much the same except for a few additions that will be brand new and unlike anything Rockford has ever had before.

The Rockford Park District made it official today and the park and golf course will now include zip lining during the warm months and snowboarding during the colder months. The district approved contracts with two groups that will install and operate the equipment needed for both activities. Today’s announcement had been two years in the making.

"It's just going to be a wonderful opportunity for our families and our youth to be able to partake in these types of activities and they won't have to drive anywhere anymore. It's about an hour and a half to two hours away to really start doing any of these types of activities and now we have them right here in our own hometown,” said Laura Pigatti Williamson with the Rockford Park District.

The District expects to have everything ready by the end of the summer.
