Allegiant Airlines Announces New Destination

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Starting in February, Allegiant Airlines will fly to the Punta Gorda/Fort Myers area.

The destination used to be one of RFD’s most popular options. Flights there were halted in the spring, when Direct Air ran out of money and suddenly cancelled its service to Florida.

Airport leaders say they're thrilled one of their long-time service providers has decided to add flights the spring break hot-spot.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Allegiant has announced they have started flight service to Fort Myers/Punta Gorda Florida.

Beginning February 14, 2013 Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) will service two flights per week to Punta Gorda Airport (PGD).

Allegiant is offering a $99.99 introductory One-way fare for a limited time only. Seats are limited. Tickets must be purchased by December 12, 2012. You can find out more information at
