ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rows and rows of toys for needy kids in Rockford are all thanks to a man known as the Undertaker.

His giving spirit is more like Santa, but he goes by the name the Undertaker.

For 40 years he's given out hundreds of thousands of toys to kids that normally wouldn't have anything to open on Christmas morning.

"What you hear in the background the giggles the laughter is what my life has been all about for the last 40 years."

After 4 decades, the Undertaker is retiring. Today he handed out his last toys all going to kids in low income homes mostly raised by single parents.

In all that time the Undertaker has been known for his modesty and humility, and has never revealed his name, saying he does for others, not himself.

"People come with hearts to work for others, that's what this is all about, not me."

Greatful parents like Kat Politick say they'll never forget the Undertaker's kindness. She says if it wasn't for him and his army of volunteers her kids might not have gotten any presents this year.

"it means a lot, to give them that little extra, things that they can unwrap, see the smile on their face. "

Although he's hanging up his Santa hat, the Undertaker will still get to see those smiling faces throughout the year.

He says he'll stay involved in our community.
