ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Enrollment for the Affordable Care Act is well underway now, but it's still confusing for a lot of us so local health providers are still helping us make sense of it all.
OSF St. Anthony hosted an open house to help answer people's questions and help get them enrolled most people had questions about the types of plans available, what kind of assistance like tax breaks and Medicaid, they can get. After learning more about it OSF’s Health Insurance Specialist says many people are optimistic and find they have more options for insurance than they did in the past.
"There are a couple tools out there that we're using to help them estimate some, what they might be able to expect on the way of premiums and whether or not they'll qualify for any tax credits and what that might mean to them," Nicole Fountain, OSF’s Health Insurance Specialist, said.
OSF is hosting another open house again next weekend for those of us that still have questions. It goes from 9a.m. until 3p.m. next Saturday at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. We have until December 15 to enroll in the ACA for coverage that starts on January 1.
