ROCKFORD (WIFR) – A Belvidere woman is dead after being hit by an armored truck early Tuesday morning.
Police say around 2 a.m., 48-year-old Kelly Kroon was walking across East State Street near Mill Road, when a Garda truck struck her.
Kroon was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner's office is awaiting toxicology reports. The incident remains under investigation.
