UPDATE: Beloit Police Investigating Two-Vehicle Accident

UPDATE: BELOIT (WIFR) -- The Beloit Police Department is investigating a two vehicle auto accident that occurred on Eighth St. at Euclid Av just before 5:00 this morning.

A vehicle driven by 22-year-old Spenser Hubbard, was traveling at a high rate of speed north bound on Eighth St. Hubbard’s vehicle struck a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Salvador Cabrera-Ortega, that was traveling west bound on Euclid Av.
Following the collision, Hubbard’s car traveled through a yard and came to rest against the residence of 502 Eighth St. Beloit Fire Department personnel were required to extricate victims from both vehicles.

Hubbard was transported to Mercy Hospital in Janesville for non-life threatening injuries. A 17-year-old passenger in Hubbard’s vehicle was flown by helicopter to UW Madison Hospital
and she is in serious condition.

Neither Hubbard nor his passenger was wearing a seatbelt.
Cabrera-Ortega, of Beloit, and his six-year-old daughter transported to Beloit Hospital for minor injuries and they were both treated and released. The daughter had not been restrained with a seatbelt or car seat.

The scene was cleared shortly after 8:00 a.m. In addition to the excessive speed, investigators believe alcohol and/or other drugs were a contributing factor.

Hubbard will be held on an initial charge of Causing Injury by Intoxicated use of a Motor Vehicle. Additional charges will be assessed at the conclusion of the investigation.

UPDATE: A small Honda compact was traveling at a high rate of speed down 8th Street when it collided with a Dodge Durango.

The two people inside the Durango suffered minor injuries, however, the two people in the Honda were transported to the local hospital with unknown injuries.

After the two vehicles struck the Honda spun and rested against the side of a house resulting in minor damage to the side of the house.
ROCK COUNTY (WIFR) – Beloit Fire Department and Beloit Police Department are on scene of a car vs. house accident with injuries.

It occurred just before 5 a.m. Tuesday morning on the 500 block of 8th Street.
