ROCKFORD - (WIFR) The Discovery Center Museum is hosting Festival of Flight. Adults and kids will learn how things fly, while having fun playing with rockets, paper airplanes and even kites.

Event organizers say there is plenty of things for kids to do.

"Kids can make rockets soar in the air, they can build and test paper airplanes, they can build and test twirly copters and stunt gliders and all sorts of different things that fly and just have a good time learning a little about the physics of flying," said Ann Marie Walker, Marketing Manager for the Discovery Center Museum.

The event runs Saturday from 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1-4 p.m.

The Discovery Center will also have a booth at Rockford Airfest this weekend, where an astronaut will be signing autographs.
