ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Boone County's largest employer sent a big wig from Detroit to speak to a big crowd at 98th Annual Belvidere Chamber Dinner.
Misti Rice is the Senior Manager of State Relations for Chrysler. She was the keynote speaker at Thursday night's event at Giovanni's in Rockford. Before her speech 23 News Anchor Mike Garrigan asked Rice if she was pleased with the sales numbers of the Belvidere Chrysler Plant's newest model the Dodge Dart.
"With that 35 consecutive months of increased sales by Chrysler, the new Dodge Dart has been a part of that and we're very excited about that. And we just think that that's going to continue to improve. Motor Week named the Dodge Dart the best compact car in it's class. So we're just going to continue to see that continued growth and excitement about the Dodge Dart."
Rice says the Belvidere plant will start producing the Dodge Dart GT this summer. That new model was first rolled out at the Detroit auto show in January.
