By  |

23 News Meteorologist Mark Strehl was at the Rock River Valley Pantry live on 23 News at 5 and 6 working to get food donations for families who depend on the pantry.

Mark was helping to fill the pantry's depleted shelves. Arlene Mathews and Blues Transit provided some musical entertainment and you provided the nonperishable food.

Thanks to the generosity of our viewers and the people you can on, the pantry tells us, at last count, they've received more than 850 pounds of food for their pantry.

23 News still urges you to give to the pantry. They are serving a record number of families every month. If you would like to drop off some donations the address is 1080 Short Elm Street in Rockford, or call the pantry at 965-2466.
