The former governor is charged in a federal indictment with racketeering conspiracy, mail fraud, tax fraud and filing false tax returns. He's accused of steering state contracts and leases to clients of a political friend while he was secretary of state in the 1990s.
Ryan's trial is expected to begin in Chicago next March.
