Two high-ranking Rockford police officials are told they're no longer part of the officers' union. Chief Chet Epperson and Deputy Chief Mike Booker received letters this week telling them their membership was revoked from the Rockford police benevolent and protective association. The union is not commenting right now on its decision. Epperson says a move like this has never happened. He feels it could be the result of some officers resisting changes in the department, like more beefed-up patrols around the city.
