Breakthrough Surgery

A breakthrough surgery was performed for the first time at Swedish American Hospital, helping those with Degenerative Disc Disease or DDD.

This new procedure involving a disc replacement allows patients to maintain motion and the stainless steel implant is said to last a lifetime whereas the older alternative limited motion and forced patients to get multiple surgeries.

In the US, more than 200 thousand people suffer from DDD every year.
