Fatal Car Accident in Jo Daviess County
One man is dead and another injured after two cars collide in Jo Daviess County.

Jo Daviess County Police say the crash happened around 8:30 last night at the intersection of E. Stagecoach Tral and N. Slaughterhouse Road.
Police say Damien Grube, 24, of Hanover was speeding southbound on Slaughterhouse Road when he ran through a stop sign.
He crashed into a car driven by Richard A. Johnson, 65, of Apple River. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Grube was taken by Lifeline to St. Anthony's Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Rich was one of those people you could sit and talk for hours and wonder where the time went. He had so much information and tips for younger people. He will always be thought of everytime I have a question that only he could solve in his own unique way. He was a great man. I hope the idiot that took away his life gets his.

He was a fun part of my extended family. Touching base with him for a few days a couple of years ago, will be a fond memory I will treasure.Richard was a gentle giant & will be missed by many!

Rich was and will aways be remembered as a Kind and gentle man. A sad day.
