Two Murders in Rockford

A Rockford man is shot and killed this morning on the city's west side.

A 22-year-old was found on the sidewalk outside 820 Haskell shortly after 2 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound. Police have identified the victim but have not released his name pending the notification of family members. Authorities are talking with several people at this time. No charges have been filed but police indicate charges could be filed later Monday afternoon. Police say the murder could be gang related.

Also a 17-year-old was shot and killed last night on Rockford's west side. Police say the shooting was one of two last night right around 8 p.m.

Torry Pool showed up at Rockford Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest and stomach area. He died this morning from the wound. Police believe he was shot on Forest Trail. A block away, in the 300 block of Oakwood,

Sixteen-year-old Tyrone Williams was found with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Williams is listed in good condition at Rockford Memorial. Police believe the shootings are related. There are no suspects in this murder.
