Blagojevich vetoed a bill that would have increased speed limits for large trucks to 65 miles per hour on rural interstate highways.
The Democrat killed a similar bill that the General Assembly sent him last year. Blagojevich fears that faster trucks will mean bloodier accidents because the force of impact is stronger the faster a truck goes.
Truckers say it's actually safer because all vehicles are traveling at the same speed. They argue they need uniform speeds like 40 other states have to help business.
