WASHINGTON (AP) -- Talk show host Tyra Banks is putting her usual discussion of body image and fashion on hold for a day to interview U.S. Senator Barack Obama.
The Illinois Democrat is the first presidential candidate to appear on the syndicated show, which is now in its third season. The show's topics typically are relationships and glamour rather than politics.
Obama's appearance allows him to campaign before a largely female audience. Obama rival Hillary Rodham Clinton has a lead among women and will appear on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" next month.
Obama's taping on "The Tyra Banks Show" is scheduled for September 27th.
