DEKALB, Ill. (AP) -- Police are trying to find out why a monster truck plowed into a crowd of spectators in DeKalb, injuring at least nine people.
Authorities say a mother and her four-year-old daughter are in serious condition at hospitals in Rockford.
Two more adults and five other children went to Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb, and were treated and released yesterday.
City Manager Mark Biernacki says the truck drove over several cars and crushed them. The demonstration was part of a monster truck tour sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts.
Biernacki says the truck then plowed into the crowd, going through a wooden fence and stopping on nearby railroad tracks.
