The spot on the ballot was officially vacated last week by Jack Ryan after embarrassing allegations about his sex life became public.

Among those who have gone through a vetting process to prepare for Tuesday’s meetings are dairy owner James Oberweiss, retired Air Force General John Borling, Edwardsville lumber businessman and developer Robert Plummer, businessman John Cox and former national drug-control official Andrea Grubb Barthwell.

23 News will have details of Tuesday’s decision Tuesday at 5, 6, and 10.
