ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It wasn't the usual cafeteria fare for students at Rockford College on Saturday night.
The college's multicultural club hosted its 8th Annual International Food Fair which featured cuisine from Palestine, Puerto Rico, and several other countries. International students helped prepare dishes from their homelands. They also modeled traditional costumes for their classmates. The feast is popular among students every year because it's a unique way to learn about different cultures.
“Most of the recipes are made authentic and are homemade recipes, so we spend a lot of time in the kitchen and really it shows, so I mean the food is amazing and the people really put their dedication and their heart into it," says student organizer Eman Ghazal.
The evening also included a demonstration of Tai Chi, and performances from local Italian and Irish dance troops.
