Illinois Department of Transportation officials say there will be no noticeable changes to larger transportation projects.
Some of these road projects include the widening of South Main St. in Rockford, the interchange at Interstate 90 and Illinois 173, the widening of 173 from the Interstate to Machesney Park, and the completion of US20 Bypass around Freeport. These projects are still in the planning phase and engineers will continue to work on them.
Larger resurfacing projects previously scheduled to be completed this summer will be delayed. Two of these projects include the resurfacing of Illinois 251 from Illinois 173 to South Beloit and the project on Illinois 75 between Illinois 2 and Interstate 90 in South Beloit.
The Opportunity Returns Program will come up for a vote in November.
