Exelon's Profits Up

Net income came to $521 million, or 78 cents a share. That compares with the prior year's $372 million, or 57 cents a share.

The latest results beat estimates from Wall Street analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call.

The electric utility also predicts its full-year earnings will come in near the top of its previous range of estimates.
