WASHINGTON (AP) -- After the disastrous collapse of a bridge in Minneapolis, Illinois' U.S. senators are concerned about possible problems with their own state's bridges.
Senator Dick Durbin says he and Senator Barack Obama are posing questions for the Illinois Department of Transportation and federal officials.
Durbin says he's sure state and federal agencies will be inundated with similar requests from others, but he says he and Obama want to be sure to get on the list.
The eight-lane Interstate 35W bridge was in the midst of repairs when it buckled during the evening rush hour in Minneapolis last night, sending dozens of cars into the Mississippi River.
