The Federal Aviation Administration says O'Hare International Airport handled more flights in the first half of the year than any other U.S. airport.

But the U.S. Department of Transportation says Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is on pace to handle the most passengers this year.

The FAA says O'Hare had a total of 490,987 takeoffs and landings in the first six months of the year. Hartsfield had 481,390 flights.

From January through April, Hartsfield handled 12 million originating passengers. O'Hare was second with 9.4 million passengers.
