Revenues in Mississippi dropped from $2.72 billion in 2008 to $2.46 billion in 2009, while Indiana's fell from $2.67 billion in 2008 to $2.58 billion in 2009.

Nevada and New Jersey continued to hold the top spots in 2009, reporting $9.76 billion and $3.9 billion respectively.

Officials say the poor economy coupled with the proliferation of gaming destinations is partially to blame. Indiana also reaped the benefit of a smoking ban in neighboring casino states.
