It's a win win situation at Aquin High School today when it comes to dealing with teens drinking and driving.

Judge James Hauser was at the Freeport school today to talk about a program by the Illinois Judges Association called.. "7 reasons to leave the party." The presentation includes true stories from teens who made wrong decisions. Hauser will talk to 9 Stephenson County schools in the next two weeks.spreading the message that by the time a teen hits the courthouse it's too late.

"This is our attempt at preventatitve law. Most teens want to do the right thing, and through this program, hopefully we will encourage them to do the right thing and get them to get their peers to do the right thing."" said Judge James Hauser.

"I thought it had a lot of good information and the visuals helped drill in the message that it was trying to convey. So I think after seeing that, I would be more likely to convince other people not to drugs or alcohol."
said Elizabeth Bald an Aquin Junior.

Aquin students are encouraged to sign a contract with parents pledging not to drink or drive with anyone who has been drinking and if they're at an uncomfortable place or situation they will call the parent for a ride home no questions asked.
