This is the time of year for churches around the stateline to host their Friday fish fries. But for a small church in Oregon, this Easter-time tradition draws quite the crowd
Today, chairs are stacked and aprons are folded and waiting. But by this time tomorrow, the room will be filled with almost 500 hungry people. They come from around the stateline, as far away as Galena and Hinckley. Every week during the Easter season, church members prepare 500 pounds of fish and 50 pounds of potatoes.

For the last five years, event organizer Fran Kaminski has joined this annual tradition. She says the community loves it for many reasons.
"We've got such long winters here in this area that as soon as there is a community event where people can get out of the house, they want to see their neighbors and talk about what's happened the last three or four months,” said Kaminski. “It really helps us out a lot."
For only $9, you too can join this all-you-can-eat dinner. It runs from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. every Friday through March 26.
