No one is blaming the pilot or anyone else for this. This all falls under planning by the County and Candlewick. I know rescues aren't alway's immediate and take planning. What is needed is a plan to avoid these delays in the future. My family and I have been in Candlewick for 15 years, we moved from the western suburbs in which my husband was on the fire dept. as a firefighter / paramedic. Never the less, my point is: use this a learning experience, and provide training for all emergency personnal to avoid these problems / delays in the future: Plan a drill and have lifeline / flight for life be included as other counties do. Let's get Candlewick marked for such emergencies. "THIS IS OUR HOME"

I have only been out here a few years comming from chicago, I have never in my life seen such a bunch of competetive, whinning backstabbing bunch of babies. If the shoe was on the other foot (your the pilot) you would not be complaining. unless you people have experience in both aspects of the situation you should just shut up. Sometimes rescues aren't always immediate. They take precise planning I'm sure the pilot was feeling frustrated not being able to land where they needed to (as close to the victim as possible). now if the pilot had cut a power line or took out a roof top you would be complaining about that too. you complainers are pathetic. At least we have that option of a flight lifeline. How ungrateful! I do hope the girl is ok. but if not it certainly isn't the pilots fault ot anyone else for that matter. It's bad luck.

1st off.. there were alot of rumors going around on what happened... My son goes to school with 1 or more of the children living there. A 16 year old girl fell out her upstairs window. She couldn't feel anything from her waist down, which is why flight for life had to come in. I agree with the chopper taking to long to land ( after 2 failed attempts ) an ambul could have gotten her somewhere faster... and WHY doesn't Candlewick have a special spot for a chopper to land ??? there is a golf corse , lots of empty lots... should not have taken that long.... What if that was your child ??? and you needed the chopper ??? who would care how many streets were closed, or how long you sat at the date.... remember that next time..... Hope she is and will be ok !!!
