New information surrounding the former Beloit Memorial teacher and coach accused of sexually assaulting one or more students.

32 year old Chris Kindschi is charged with sexual assault of a child by a school staff police first learned of the alleged assault last October but an arrest didn't come until Monday. Kindschi was a teacher at the high school from 2004-2008 and a boys and girls soccer coach from 1999-through-2009. the school district's Executive Director of Personnel Services, says the district performs thorough background checks on all prospective employees. meantime parents of students are trying to figure out how this could happen.

"I'm surprised, shocked, concerned. But it in no way will it change my opinion of the school I would want to know first and foremost about the well being of the student involved or students whatever the case may be and then how they're going to handle the situation." said Tammy Utzig a Beloit Memorial High School Parent.

Kindschi's first court appearance is scheduled for March 16th.
