Area Zoo in Elephant Flap With PETA

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says life in captivity is harmful for the psychological and physical well-being of elephants.

Two high-profile zoos, the Detroit Zoo and the San Francisco Zoo, have dropped their elephant exhibits after deciding they agree with PETA.

But Lincoln Park Zoo spokeswoman Kelly McGrath says the facility's had elephants for more than 50 years. She says the elephants receive the best possible care.
