Mayor Scott Gives State of City Address

Tuesday, the second annual state of the city address was held in Rockford.

More than 450 people gathered at the Clock Tower Resort to hear what Mayor Doug Scott had to say about the status of the forest city. This is just the second time city leaders and area residents gathered for the state of the city address.

And those who attended were eager to hear about strides made in the last year, and areas needing improvement in the next.

As for accomplishments, Mayor Scott talked about developments in transportation including the Harrison Avenue extension project and the North Main corridor, millions of dollars in grants the city received from the state, public safety improvements and more.

As for improvements, Mayor Scott is looking forward to expanded air service at the Greater Rockford Airport, west side development, downtown revitalization and more.
