Kerry Picks Edwards

At a rally in Pittsburgh Tuesday, Kerry announced he picked North Carolina Senator John Edwards as his vice-presidential running mate.

Kerry said the freshman senator is ready for the job, and that the two plan to push for "one America for all Americans" in an upcoming cross-country campaign.

Kerry said Edwards showed political savvy during his own bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. He said he and Edwards have worked "side by side" during their political careers and sometimes "head to head."
